TALKING TO YOUR GIANT SCHNAUZER PUPPIES

Let's be honest, how many dog lovers do not talk to their "kids"?  None would be a safe guess.  After giant schnauzer puppies are brought into a new home, they will logically begin building a relationship with their new family members. A big part of building this relationship is communication, or talking, to the giant schnauzer puppies.  But you must remember that the giant schnauzer puppies do not view the world in the same was as their human counterparts in their new family.  Pay attention to how your "talk" to your Giant and you can be rewarded with a stronger bond and a better relationship.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that giant schnauzer puppies cannot understand the words that you are speaking to them.  But at the same time, remember that the Giants will not likely understand words that represent items or actions outside of their own experience.  Many times when we may think that our dog simply cannot understand us, this is because we are not managing to communicate properly with our Giant.  If you are training giant schnauzer puppies to learn commands or words, be consistent in your use of the words.  Giant schnauzer puppies can pick up the meaning of a lot of different words if used consistently.  While this sounds simple, humans communicating with other humans have a tendency to vary their words rather than keeping them consistent, so it may take some concentration to keep your vocabulary consistent with your giant schnauzer puppies.

Rewarding and assisting can also help giant schnauzer puppies pick up words a little faster.  For example, when teaching your dog to sit, reward the Giant with a treat each time the action is completed correctly.  If the Giant is struggling, assist the puppy to the sitting position.  Eventually, the giant schnauzer puppies will comprehend the word and learn to sit when requested.  Giants, like humans, will work for a reward.  Understand that no two dogs, not even two giant schnauzer puppies, will learn at the same rate or to the same level.  Each Giant, like each human, is an individual.

Finally, pay attention to your tone and your body language when working with your giant schnauzer puppies.  Giants, like all dogs, will "listen" to your body language and tone as much, if not more, than the words coming out of your mouth.  Just as you keep the words consistent, try to keep your tone consistent and appropriate to the situation.  Enthusiasm can energize your dog.  Anger or frustration, even when trying to do something fun for the giant schnauzer puppies, can cause stress and inhibit learning.  giant schnauzer puppies will also learn to read your body language, whether sitting, standing with hands on hips or jumping around, the Giant will listen to and learn your body movements.  Be aware of your body language when teaching and training your giant schnauzer puppies to avoid confusing by sending conflicting signals.

Learning to talk to your giant schnauzer puppies can create a rewarding relationship for both the Giant and the owner.
