Can I Leave My Giant Schnauzer Puppies Home Alone??

If you've done your research on giant schnauzer puppies before adding one to your family, you know that they are a high energy, playful breed.  The giants require attention and exercise on a daily basis.  So does this mean that giant schnauzer puppies are the wrong choice for a person who works eight hours a day?  Not necessarily, but you will want to spend some time training and teaching your giant for the solo time.

giant schnauzer puppies, like any puppy, will probably find some activity to pass the time if left home alone, but as an owner, these activities may not be the most desirable.  When giant schnauzer puppies leave Fanta C Giant Schnauzers, they are leaving what has become familiar territory to the pup to become a part of your home and family.  Leaving them home alone for extended periods of time can lead to separation anxiety, though Giants are not necessarily prone to this problem.  Separation anxiety can lead to whining, scratching, inappropriate chewing and general depression in your new family member.  To keep giant schnauzer puppies happy and healthy, spend some time acclimating them to being at home alone.

First and foremost, exercise and interact with giant schnauzer puppies when you are spending time at home!  Giant Schnazuer puppies love to run, play and work - to be active generally.  Spend time in the yard with the giant schnauzer puppies playing with chew toys and tugging on ropes.  Explore the neighborhood by taking giants on walks or runs.  Visit a dog park and let the giant schnauzer puppies socialize and interact with other dogs and people.  General activity and exercise will keep the Giant happy and release nervous energy that can lead to separation anxiety.

In addition, there are training techniques for giant schnauzer puppies that will help them learn how to act appropriately when home alone and curb any tendency toward separation anxiety.  When first bringing a giant schnauzer puppy into a home, some people will leave the pup alone for short periods of time, slowly extending these periods until several hours pass without incident.  This technique may also incorporate rewards for time spent alone without destructive or inappropriate behavior.

Finally, make the giant schnauzer puppies as comfortable as possible when they are at home alone.  Leave favorite toys or sleeping spots accessible to the giants if this is possible.  Leaving clothing, blankets or other items with the owners scent available to the giant schnauzer puppies may also ease the puppies time alone.  Even dog toys can be grasped, held or rubbed prior to leaving to allow the toy to retain the owners scent.  A radio or CD with soothing music may ease anxiety and tension in the puppy.  And of course, if you plan on leaving the giant schnauzer puppies for an extended period of time, make sure that appropriate food and water is available as well.

The ideal home for giant schnauzer puppies would be a home where the owner works part time or works from home, but with a little extra effort, giant schnauzer puppies can be happy with a loving family or owner that works full time.  If you are considering adding giant schnauzer puppies to your family, contact Fanta C Giant Schnauzers for more information or to set up a time to visit with the Fanta C Giant Schnauzer puppies for sale!
