Since I do not have a "training reference" section and this pertains to showing, I am inserting this excellent training article. The author knows what she is talking about! (hit your back button to return here)

Just came back from a GREAT weekend at Franklin, TN. Foreman won best of winners for a major and best of opposite, in the process, beating the #1 male giant in the US! The following day he won another major and best of winners again! The judge said that if I had perfected his coat he would have put him up for best of breed!

Terre Haute show next weekend, hoping for nice weather and a great time. Maggie starting her show career, hopefully Debbie's girl Drew will be finishing hers. Taking Pepsi along for training and socializing. Also for fun I will be taking "Kitty" and "Keeper". Babies seem to have a great time at shows and it's an excellent time to expose them to the commotion while they are young and curious. Might even enter them in a puppy match, babies learning the show ring have so much fun. It's part of their training to teach them that showing is a lot of fun. Tasty liver treats help them remember their experience was fun and rewarding.

Returned this afternoon from Terre Haute. Rain held off till last night and the pictures below were taken this morning of Debbie and Drew in the ring with a light drizzle. Congratulations Debbie and Drew for winning 2 points this weekend!

Next photo's were taken yesterday of Drew having fun with her skunk and catapillar. Dog shows are a mix of companionship and showmanship and grooming skills. Our priority is for our dog to enjoy the entire show experience. Drew certainly does.

Summer update:
Debbie's girl Drew finished her championship! Her girl Calli picked up 6 points including a major win. My girl Dallas picked up 6 points also including a major win. I started Kitty and Keeper in the ring at Muncie and they both enjoyed showing. I look forward to continuing their show careers. Foreman finished his Championship too. It's been a busy and fun summer, looking forward to some great shows this fall.

Had great weather for the Columbus Ohio show last week. Dallas showed very well every day and either won winners bitch or best of winners each day for the points. She is maturing into a very very lovely girl.

Our Midwest Regional Specialty was held at the Indianapolis Fair grounds this year. Very nice entry and some very nice competition. My girl Dallas showed well on the first day, winning winners bitch for 2 points. The second day she won a 4 point major and best of winners to finish her CHAMPIONSHIP! Many thanks to Tina Harbert for her expert handling with Dallas.

Ray Modler's 2 Giants (Lady and Sonny) along with my 3 (Kitty, Keeper and Pepsi) enjoyed their first experience in the ring at the Rock Island Illinois show. I had no expectations and only hoped that they would enjoy their experience. Sunny took winners dog and best of opposite on both days. The girls all showed wonderfully and were eager to return the second day. When starting a dog in the ring that is the very most we can hope for...that they enjoy it and want to do it again.

"Shadow" picked up best of breed for a major. He's beginning to get the hang of showing and going to be a wonderful dog to handle.
"Kitty" also picked up her first major at the same show.

A GREAT weekend at Muncie, IN show. "Shadow" earned a 4 pt major on Thursday. On Friday he took Breed for another 4 pt major and finished his championship! Photo will be posted as soon as it arrives.
"Kitty" took winners bitch on Thursday and Friday for one pt each day. "Keeper" took best of winners on Saturday for a major! and on Sunday winners bitch for 2 pts. Like I said, it was a great weekend. Shared with good friends and met new friends. Weather wasn't too bad either.
